About

Chatting Pictures

Chatting Pictures podcast is a loveably chaotic critical journey through the history of Irish Cinema. In every episode, we choose an Irish film and give it the full Chatting Pictures treatment (which usually means drenching it in gin and ruining the DVD player). We measure fillums (films) on the Arron Sweater-o-Meter (how twee Oirish it is), whether it’s In the Ra (does it deal with themmuns?), and rank them by how many Snakes on the Staff (of St Patrick) out of ten it gets.
Recorded in person in the Drumquin Picturehouse in county Tyrone, so all interruptions are guaranteed just rudeness, not awkward Zoom etiquette.
Any similarity to established podcasts covering the history of Irish cinema is pure laziness in our market research. Any content on Chatting Pictures that suggests we are chin-stroking academia should be reported in the comments so we can address this oversight.
Chatting Pictures Podcast is available on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify and other major podcast outlets
